Bangabazar fire turns Eid sales hopes of thousands of traders into ashes
Some 5,000 to 6,000 shops of six markets were gutted in a massive fire in the capital’s Bangabazar on Tuesday. Being informed about the fire, fifty fire service units rushed to the spot. A joint support team of the Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Air Force and Bangladesh Navy also joined them to control the fire.
Shop owners were stocking up and banking on good business before Eid Al-Fitr celebrations later this month, but Tuesday’s fire is leaving them destitute
